Zelenskyy, President of Finland discuss joint production of drones
As part of a working visit to New York, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Finnish President Alexander Stubb. The parties discussed the situation on the battlefield, Ukraine's defense needs, and international cooperation.
As reported by the press service of the Ukrainian president, "at the meeting, they discussed Ukrainian-Finnish defense cooperation, and separately discussed joint production of drones and the exchange of experience in this area."
Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine requires air defense systems, particularly MANPADS. The Ukrainian Head of State briefed his counterpart on the current stage of implementation of the agreements reached during the NATO Summit in Washington.
"Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed the importance for Ukraine to receive permission and capabilities from its partners to strike deep into Russian territory," the press service said.
The leaders also discussed what specific international efforts are needed to achieve a lasting and just peace for Ukraine and the role of the Global South in this process.
