European Solidarity proposes cutting spending, increasing receipts by UAH 170 bln in 2025 state budget – Poroshenko

Petro Poroshenko, leader of the European Solidarity party and a member of the Ukrainian parliament, presented the party's proposals for the 2025 state budget. He emphasized that all non-essential expenditures should be cut, and funds collected from the military levy should be directed solely to the needs of the army, according to the party's website on Tuesday.

"Our proposals will reduce expenditures and mobilize revenues by UAH 170 billion without increasing the tax burden on low-income citizens. We propose cutting UAH 105 billion in expenses and increasing revenues by UAH 65 billion in the state budget. First and foremost, the corrupt, nontransparent, and inefficient Road Fund should be eliminated," Poroshenko said at a briefing.

He criticized what he sees as insufficient funding for Ukraine's Armed Forces and the increased allocation of funds to government bodies, television broadcasting, and the misuse of the military levy.

"By October 1st, our political team will submit amendments and proposals to be reviewed by the budget committee and forwarded to the government as recommendations from the Verkhovna Rada for consideration in the first reading of the budget draft," Poroshenko added.
