Ukraine's invitation to NATO is part of victory plan – Yermak

Head of the President's Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak said that part of the victory plan is an invitation to Ukraine to NATO, and called on partners to ignore threats of escalation from Russia.

As reported by the presidential press service, Yermak also said Ukraine's victory plan contains a clear vision of the steps that need to be taken to ensure a fair and lasting peace, and consists of military and diplomatic parts.

"We must have an advantage on the battlefield to force Putin to stop the fighting. We are trying very hard. Without ships, we destroyed the Black Sea Fleet. Without an advantage in the air, we stopped the Russian advance in most areas, including Kharkiv. Without fear, we returned the war to Russia," he said during a speech at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York. Yermak said that since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine has increased its weapons production sixfold, but lacks the resources and technology to produce everything necessary.

The President's Office head called on the allies to increase and speed up the delivery of military aid packages.

"Air defense systems, drones, electronic warfare systems, long-range systems and artillery shells are on our priority list," Yermak said.

He also called for increased investment in the production of Ukrainian weapons and noted the importance of granting Ukraine permission to strike on Russian territory, as well as the use of frozen Russian assets.

"As part of the discussion that took place after the speech, the head of the Presidential Office outlined the prospects for holding the second Peace Summit and preliminary preparatory work, which includes a series of thematic conferences on each of the points of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula," the press service said.
