Russian Shahed again flies above Khmelnytsky NPP with imitation of attack – Energoatom
Another Russian unmanned aerial vehicle was detected flying close to the industrial site of the Khmelnytsky Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) with a simulated attack maneuver on the night of September 22.
"The flight trajectory indicates that Russia was likely trying to imitate a direct attack on the NPP via a sharp deviation from the initial trajectory toward the power plant, approaching the site and then returning back to the initial trajectory," Energoatom said on Monday.
The company stressed that it was not the first case of Russia subjecting Ukrainian nuclear facilities to danger by consciously created a security threat to an NPP and escalating the energy terror.
"Russia has been raising the stake by systemically creating tension at nuclear objects. This terror must be stopped as it may entail the fatal consequences," Energoatom's CEO Petro Kotin said.
As reported, during the night Russian attack on September 12, a flight of a Russian Shahed-type attack UAV was recorded in the immediate vicinity of the Khmelnytsky NPP.
