Head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, arrived in Kyiv on Friday morning.
“My 8th visit to Kyiv,” she said on X.
Von der Leyen noted that her visit is connected with the ongoing shelling of the energy infrastructure of Ukraine by the Russian Federation against the background of the imminent start of the heating season.
“The heating season starts soon, and Russia keeps targeting energy infrastructure. We will help Ukraine in its brave efforts. I come here to discuss Europe’s support. From winter preparedness to defence, to accession and progress on the G7 loans,” she said.
