Second power line to ZNPP from Ukrainian power system restored
Ukrainian power engineers on September 5 at 14:40 restored the damaged second power transmission line, through which electricity is supplied to the temporarily occupied Zaporizhia NPP from the Ukrainian power system, Energoatom reported on Thursday.
"We remind you that on September 2, 2024, due to Russian shelling, one of the two external overhead lines was damaged. Ukrainian specialists were unable to inspect the damaged area and begin repairs for a long time due to the threat of repeated shelling of the site by Russian troops," the company noted.
As reported, since the beginning of the Russian occupation on March 4, 2022, Zaporizhia NPP has already experienced eight full blackouts and one partial one - with the launch of emergency diesel generators and safety systems. Their failure may lead to an emergency situation.
