Zelenskyy: F-16s used to repel Russian massive attack on Ukraine
The F-16 fighter jets provided by the Western partners were used to repel the latest Russian massive attack on Ukraine, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said Tuesday, adding that several missiles were shot down with their help.
"The F-16s showed a very good result. During this huge combined attack on Ukraine, we shot down several missiles with the help of the F-16s. We are grateful to our partners for providing us with the F-16s," he told a press conference in Kyiv.
When asked what Western partners say about a permission to use long-range weapons against military targets on the territory of Russia, Zelenskyy said, "They are trying to not discuss this with me. But I still raise this issue. In principle, it looks like the Olympics are over, but the ping-pong match goes on."
