Cherkasy region receives evacuation train from Donetsk region – region’s head
On Tuesday night, August 27, the first evacuation train from Donetsk region arrived in Cherkasy region in a year, said Ihor Taburets, head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration.
"Another 114 internally displaced persons will now find shelter in our region. Families with children, pensioners, people with disabilities … Their lives were destroyed by Russia, depriving them of their homes. Our social services, rescuers, partners in the regional organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society immediately joined the work. They provided the necessary assistance, delivered it to new homes," Taburets wrote on the Telegram channel.
He noted that Cherkasy region had already hosted more than 94,000 internally displaced persons.
