Russians fire at border of Sumy region with smart bombs: two people killed, woman injured
Russian troops attacked the civilian infrastructure of the Esman merged territorial community (hromada) of Shostka district with guided aerial bombs (UAB), as a result of which two civilians were killed and one was injured, Sumy regional prosecutor's office reported.
"According to the investigation, at about 13:00 on August 22, 2024, using methods of warfare prohibited by international law, the occupiers dropped two guided aerial bombs on the civilian infrastructure of Esman hromada of Shostka district … As a result of the occupiers' attack, two civilian men aged 74 and 67 were killed, the wife of one of the victims was injured and hospitalized," the regional prosecutor's office said.
A pretrial investigation has been launched into violations of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Law enforcement officers are documenting the consequences of the shelling.
