It is necessary for funds from frozen Russian assets to work for Ukraine in coming months – Zelenskyy
Ukraine needs a real mechanism that will allow funds from frozen Russian assets to work for real assistance to Ukrainians in the coming months, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
"Today we discussed work with partners to bring closer real decisions on the promised $50 billion from frozen Russian assets. There have already been many political statements from partners. Many are still being made about this. But we need a real mechanism," the president said in his evening video address.
"It is necessary for funds from the aggressor's assets to work for real assistance in defense against the aggressor – so that all this works for Ukraine and Ukrainians in the coming months. The relevant discussions have been going on for too long, and finally decisions are needed," Zelenskyy said.
