Lubinets urgently appeals to ICRC, UN on execution of Ukrainian POW by occupiers
Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets urgently appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the UN regarding the execution of a Ukrainian prisoner of war (POW) by the occupiers.
"There appeared a video of the Russians demonstrating the severed head of allegedly a Ukrainian fighter. I have appealed to the UN and the ICRC regarding another breach of international humanitarian law by the Russian side," he said on the Telegram channel on August 16.
The ombudsman noted that the enemy uses such videos with the aim of intimidating and demoralizing the Ukrainian people.
"However, this only strengthens our desire to bring everyone who commits such inhuman atrocities to inevitable justice!" he said.
