Poland to send about $9 mln to replace Soviet BRDM-2 with modern armored reconnaissance vehicles
The Polish Ministry of National Defense has signed a contract for the supply of modern Kleszcz light reconnaissance armored personnel carriers to the Polish Army, the press service of the Polish military department reported on Wednesday.
"Kleszcz armored personnel carriers will be delivered to the reconnaissance units of the Ground Forces, where they will replace outdated Soviet armored reconnaissance vehicles of the BRDM-2 family," the message says.
It is reported that the signed contract worth about PLN 800 million (about $8.7 million in equivalent) includes the supply of 28 vehicles, as well as a logistics and training package. The Polish military added that until 2035, it is planned to purchase 286 Kleszcz light reconnaissance armored personnel carriers.
