Air defense forces shoot down 17 of 23 Shahed drones in seven regions of Ukraine – Ukrainian Air Force

At night, the Russians attacked Ukraine with guided air missiles and 23 attack drones, the air defense destroyed 17 UAVs, commander of the Ukrainian Air Force Mykola Oleschuk reported on Wednesday morning.

"On the night of August 14, 2024, Russian occupiers attacked with two guided air missiles X-59/69 from the airspace of Belgorod region - Russia and 23 attack Shahed UAV type from the areas of Chauda - Crimea, Yeysk, and Kursk - Russia," Oleschuk wrote on the Telegram channel.

He noted that as a result of the anti-aircraft battle, mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, aviation, anti-aircraft missile units and electronic warfare systems of the Air Force shot down 17 enemy UAVs in Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Zaporizhia, Sumy, Kharkiv and Zhytomyr regions.
