Niger announced on Tuesday that it would cut diplomatic relations with Ukraine “immediately,” French ezine Le Monde has reported.
According to the publication, government spokesman Amadou Abdramane announced this in a statement read on television two days after Mali accused Ukraine of allegedly supporting Tuareg rebels who defeated a convoy of Malian military and Russian mercenaries of the Wagner PMC at the end of July.
Niger also announced the “transfer of the case to the UN Security Council for a decision on the Ukrainian aggression.”
