Moldova lifts phytosanitary check for Ukrainian grain in transit to ports until Sept 14
The Parliament of Moldova has decided to exempt Ukrainian grain in transit through the country from inspection by the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA), newsmaker.md reported.
According to the report, the waiver of inspections will apply to grain cargoes bound for the ports of Reni and Galați. This measure will be temporary and last until September 14.
"This type of goods crosses the territory of our country in specialized vehicles, so the risk of introducing quarantine organisms is low. In the event of incidents with the transport or cargo during its transit through Moldova, carriers shall notify ANSA within two hours," the parliament said.
The author of the legislative initiative is Chairman of the Parliamentary Agriculture and Food Industry Commission Aleksandr Trubka.
According to him, the adoption of this bill will solve the problem of non-animal origin goods transit and congestion at the Moldovan border due to the increased flow of goods from Ukraine.
