Shmyhal insists on need to impose sanctions against Rosatom, disconnect all Russian, Belarusian banks from SWIFT
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal insists on the need for international partners to impose sanctions against Rosatom and disconnect all Russian and Belarusian banks from the SWIFT system.
“In addition to military, financial and humanitarian assistance, sanctions pressure on the aggressor state is growing... In total, 17,000 individual and sectoral sanctions are already in force against the Russian Federation. Thanks to this, the enemy lost $400 billion. This is a powerful blow. But even more can and should be done,” Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Tuesday.
The prime minister emphasized the need to impose sanctions against Rosatom, disconnect all Russian and Belarusian banks from the SWIFT system, limit imports from Russia to the European Union of liquefied gas, gold, iron ore, titanium, aluminum, copper, nickel, palladium, and also ban the import of Russian agricultural products to EU countries.
In addition, he noted the importance of reliably crossing all workarounds in order to avoid sanctions for the Russian Federation.
