Net purchase of foreign currency by population in Jan reaches $1.1 bln – NBU
The volume of currency purchases by the population of Ukraine in January 2023 exceeded the volume of its sales by $1.103 billion compared to $1.026 billion in December and $621.8 million in November, which was a new record since October 2012, reported the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
According to information on its website, such a result in January was again ensured by the cash currency segment, where its net purchase increased to $885.2 million from $807.5 million in December and $375-380 million in November-October, while the balance of purchases and sales of non-cash currency remained at the level of the previous month – $218 million.
