Japan plans to provide EUR 160 mln to Ukraine for economic recovery – PM
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said that Japan plans to provide EUR 160 million to Ukraine to support economic recovery projects.
"I voiced our priorities for fast recovery: energy, housing, critical infrastructure, humanitarian demining and business support. I am grateful to the Japanese delegation for today's mission, which will help further attract Japanese companies to recovery," Shmyhal wrote on his Telegram channel on Monday following the meeting with State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Kiyoto Tsuji, State Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry Kazuchika Iwata and representatives of Japanese business.
According to the prime minister, Ukraine is interested in creating joint ventures, especially in the processing industry.
"Cooperation in the fields of agriculture, metalworking, mechanical engineering, critical raw materials and IT is important for us. Japan's experience in post-war reconstruction can be useful for the economic recovery of Ukraine," Shmyhal added.
