Ukraine receives another $1.2 bln U.S. grant - Marchenko
Ukraine on Wednesday received the next tranche of U.S. grant assistance in the amount of $1.2 billion, Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said.
"Today, Ukraine has received a tranche of $1.2 billion, thus, U.S. direct budget support has reached $10.9 billion in 2023," he said on Twitter.
Marchenko added that he expressed huge gratitude for this unprecedented financial support to U.S. Department of the Treasury Under Secretary for International Affairs Jay Shambaugh, with whom he met in the Moroccan capital of Marrakesh as part of the annual meeting of the IMF and the World Bank.
As reported, Ukraine expects to receive another $3.3 billion of such direct budget support from the United States this year, but due to the crisis in Congress, the decision on its allocation has not yet been made.
