In the world corruption rating Ukraine has been downgraded from 134th place in 2010 to the 152nd place in 2011, according to the Transparency International annual Corruption Perceptions Index posted on the organization's Web site on Thursday.
Ukraine shares this place with Tajikistan.
Russia occupies 143rd position amongst 183 countries. Azerbaijan, Belarus, the Comoros Islands, Mauritania, Nigeria, East Timor, Togo and Uganda have a similar rating.
The least corrupt country of the year was New Zealand. Denmark and Finland shared second place. Somalia and North Korea shared last place.
