NBU raises limit for withdrawing cash from foreign currency accounts to UAH 100,000
From March 21, 2022, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has increased the daily limit for withdrawing cash in Ukraine from accounts in foreign currency from UAH 30,000 to UAH 100,000 (equivalent), the press service of the regulator reported on Monday.
The relevant changes were approved by NBU board resolution No. 58 dated March 21, which was published on the website of the central bank and entered into force.
The NBU recalled that the daily limit of UAH 100,000 for withdrawing funds in Ukraine from accounts in the national currency remains valid, while cash withdrawals from hryvnia accounts abroad are now limited to UAH 100,000 per month.
"The relevant clarifications are designed to prevent the withdrawal of capital abroad in significant volumes," the central bank explained.
The NBU stressed that the restrictions do not apply to the use of payment cards abroad and in Ukraine for payments for goods.
