Kyiv printing company accused of illegally printing Euro 2012 logo on t-shirts

Kyiv police have opened a criminal case against managers at the Prostoprint printing company for the illegal use of the Euro 2012 logo, the media liaisons office of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry in Kyiv has reported.

Ten people who ran an illegal business without license to use Euro 2012 logo, are named in the case. Police searches of the company's premises uncovered finished products and equipment for producing merchandise with the Euro 2012 logo.

The police said they did not know how much of the illegal merchandise has been produced. They said the company printed the Euro 2012 emblem on high quality T-shirts imported from Belgium. The t-shirts were being sold at prices from UAH 50 to UAH 200 each.

The illegal business was discovered when a sample purchase of goods worth UAH 60,000 was made, after which the official co-owners of the trademarks complained to the authorities.
