Gazprom sees no financing difficulties; may raise loans secured with exports
Gazprom has so far not experienced problems raising funds for refinancing its debt, Deputy CEO Alexander Medvedev said in an interview on Russia Today television.
"Stable profits keep us from worrying about refinancing and new loans. Even if it isn't possible to raise loans for a certain amount of time, our programs won't suffer on that account," Medvedev said.
The global financial crisis will not affect the gas giant's plans, he said. "But of course we will carefully examine all sources of financing," he said.
"We have a stable portfolio of loans. All our export contracts are unencumbered. Therefore, we have the ability to raise additional loans easily. Any bank will be happy to lend us money secured with export revenue. But we are keeping that option in reserve and will only use it if we have to," he said.
