Naftogaz complaints against Gazprom up to $12 bln

The claims of Naftogaz Ukrainy against Russia's Gazprom under new lawsuits in the Stockholm arbitration had increased from $11.6 billion to over $12 billion over four months, Naftogaz CEO Yuriy Vitrenko has reported.

"Our claims have already exceeded $12 billion. Perhaps we will not win everything, but if there is no treason in Ukraine, we will win significant sums," he said on Facebook.

Vitrenko noted that earlier almost no one, including rating agencies, believed in winning the first legal proceedings with Gazprom by Naftogaz, but the company managed to achieve a positive result for itself.

"If there is no betrayal in Ukraine, we will win now too. We will recover all the money from Gazprom on the previous decisions of the arbitration. We have already recovered $2.1 billion in gas and $18 million in money. We will also recover the remaining $2.6 billion," he added.

As reported, on June 6, 2018, Naftogaz filed a new lawsuit with the Stockholm arbitration with the request to review the gas transit tariff under the contract with PJSC Gazprom. Naftogaz requires the revision of the tariff from March 2018 and preliminarily estimated its monetary claims at $11.58 billion, excluding interest.
