UAH 55 bln envisaged in 2019 state budget for subsidies - Groysman
Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has envisaged UAH 55 billion in the draft state budget for 2019 for subsidies for the population, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said.
"This is more than the current actual figure and is sufficient to provide Ukrainian families with targeted assistance," the government portal quoted Groysman as saying.
He also noted that there were 6.9 million households receiving a subsidy in 2018. According to forecasts, this figure will remain approximately the same in 2019.
"The forced increase in the price of gas, which means heat and water, will not affect the amount of payment for utility services for those who have a subsidy," the report said.
Groysman also added: "The family will continue to pay its share. The rest will be paid by the state."
