Ukraine still insists on European rules in gas relations with Russia - Klimkin
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and European Commission Vice-President Maros Sefcovic discussed in Luxembourg on October 15 the question of "what to do next with trilateral negotiations" on gas with Russia.
"Our position there is very clear. We need European rules, and only this is a guarantee of energy security of our country and the European Union," Klimkin said on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the Eastern Partnership initiative, while commenting on this meeting.
He did not specify other details.
As reported, trilateral ministerial gas talks resumed in the middle of July to discuss prospects for natural gas transit through Ukraine after 2019. The round of talks at the level of experts was held in late September, to be followed by a regular ministerial meeting. In early October, the Russian side expected such negotiations to take place this month.
