Govt approves three-stage monetization of subsidies from 2019
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a three-stage monetization of subsidies starting from January 1, 2019.
The government made the decision at a meeting on Wednesday, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported.
The government also established an interdepartmental working group to prepare proposals for the monetization of subsidies, as indicated in a draft resolution that Interfax-Ukraine has.
According to the expert conclusion to the draft resolution, which is also at the disposal of Interfax-Ukraine, the monetization of subsidies is scheduled to begin on January 1, 2019 - at the first stage it will touch, roughly, 100,000-150,000 households that will apply for subsidies with a new package of documents.
The second stage will begin on May 1, 2019 and will affect households to which the subsidy is assigned during the non-heating period of 2019.
The third stage is planned to begin from October 2019, when the full transition to monetization will take place, according to the draft government resolution.
