Energy regulator refuses postponing introduction of daily gas balancing, Ukrtransgaz warns of incomplete registration of contractors

The National Commission for the State Regulation of Energy, Housing and Utilities Services (NCER) has notified JSC Ukrtransgaz of the impossibility of postponing the introduction of daily gas balancing.

"In connection with this position of the regulator, the gas transport system (GTS) operator informs all natural gas market players about the need to fulfill their part of the obligations in accordance with the updated version of the GTS Code in order to switch to the daily balancing model from October 1," Ukrtransgaz said.

The company said that as of September 20, the system of the daily balancing information platform registered 352 contractors, including 41 of 45 gas distribution pipelines operators, 22 of 38 PSO executors and 47 out of 55 extracting enterprises.

"We remind that companies that do not pass electronic registration will not be able to use the services of natural gas transportation to Ukraine from October 1, 2018," the company said.

In this regard, Ukrtransgaz insists that the gas distribution pipelines operators urgently fulfill their obligations by providing complete and reliable information about their consumers to the daily balancing information platform for filling out the single register of gas consumers, as required by the provisions of the GTS Code.
