Poroshenko welcomes IKEA in Ukraine, waiting for arrival of Decathlon, large Arab agricultural investor

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko at a meeting with IKEA Southeast Europe CEO Stefan Vanoverbeke welcomed the arrival of the company in Ukraine. He also said that he is waiting for the arrival of France's Decathlon and a large Arab agricultural investor in the Ukrainian market.

"IKEA is a landmark company. I am very impressed with your slogan for creating a better life. IKEA is an optimal price-quality ratio. I understand that in 2019 IKEA's doors will be opened," the president said.

He added that the opening of the IKEA store in Ukraine is expected by "millions of potential consumers," and the store will be made in the new concept for the chain - the city store concept.

"I am waiting for a second stage [the expansion of IKEA in Ukraine] when IKEA decides to locate its own production here," Poroshenko said, adding that Ukraine has all the conditions for the production of high-quality goods.

The president also said that he expects that the French brand of sports clothes Decathlon will arrive in Ukraine. He also said that he will meet with an agricultural investor from Saudi Arabia.

As reported, the Saudi Agricultural & Livestock Investment Co. (SALIC) is close to acquiring Mriya farming company in Ukraine.
