Ukraine planning to sanction 19 companies over Crimean Bridge
The Ukrainian government will send the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) a list of 19 legal entities that could be sanctioned for the construction of the Crimean Bridge.
"Such a decision was made at today's Cabinet meeting," the Ukrainian Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons said in a statement.
The ministry has prepared a package of documents proposing sanctions against 19 Russian legal entities (private companies, state-owned companies, and federal agencies), which control or which founded companies involved in the construction of the bridge, the ministry said.
The list includes Stroygazmontazh (which built the bridge), its subsidiary SGM-Most (Moscow), Institut Giprostroymost-St. Petersburg (which designed the project), and subcontractors Mostotrest (Moscow) and Portgidrostroy (Novorossiysk).
Such sanctions would enable the restriction or discontinuation of the companies' economic relations with the European Union and the United States, the ministry said.
The document will be submitted to the NSDC for consideration, it said.
