Coal reserves in Ukraine decline by13.6% year-over-year, gas stocks shrink by 2.2%
Coal reserves at the warehouses of Ukrainian thermal power plants (TPPs) and combined heat and power plants (CHPPs) as of August 21, 2018, totaled 1.75 million tonnes, which was 0.28 million tonnes, or 13.6%, lower year-over-year, Ukraine's Energy Ministry has reported.
The ministry said the situation with reserves of natural gas is much better: as of August 21, there was 13.9 billion cubic meters of gas, which was only 0.3 billion cubic meters, or 2.1%, less than as of August 21, 2017.
In addition, Ukraine's Energy Ministry reported that boiler oil reserves at the power plants' warehouses were 48% less than last year and stood at 38,400 tonnes.
Over the week, the current coal reserves increased by 4.2%, or by 69,700 tonnes, those of natural gas grew by 3%, or by 0.4 billion cubic meters, while stocks of boiler oil shrank by 15%, or 400 tonnes.
