Naftogaz signs agreement with Norwegian Wikborg Rein Advokatfirma for extra EUR18 mln
Naftogaz Ukrainy on August 9 signed an agreement worth EUR 18 million with the Norwegian company Wikborg Rein Advokatfirma AS, which carries out legal support in the framework of the litigation of Naftogaz with Russia's PJSC Gazprom.
According to a report in the ProZorro procurement system, in particular, EUR 8 million will be paid for Wikborg Rein Advokatfirma's services within the framework of arbitration proceedings, and EUR 10 million for lawyers' services for compulsory enforcement of arbitration decisions.
As part of the contract, Wikborg Rein Advokatfirma, in particular, will provide legal support for three appeal proceedings and new arbitration proceedings initiated by Gazprom and Naftogaz (to review the rate of transit fees).
As reported, the Norwegian company has been providing support to arbitration proceedings under the claim of Naftogaz against Gazprom since 2014. Agreements worth more than EUR40 million are signed between the companies.
