SOCAR becomes largest private gas importer to Ukraine in H1 2018
SOCAR Ukraine trade house in January-June 2018 quadrupled imports of natural gas to Ukraine year-over-year, to 250 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas, the company's press service has reported.
"Thus, SOCAR has become the leader in the import of gas to Ukraine among commercial companies. The trader supplies the purchased resource to both household consumers and large business structures," the company said.
According to General Director of SOCAR Energy Ukraine Elchin Mamedov, the company intends to increase the volume of gas imports to the country and increase its presence in the market.
As reported, the state-owned NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy is the largest importer of gas to Ukraine.
