Groysman to request consultations with factions' leaders on gas prices for population
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman initiates consultations with the heads of parliamentary factions on the issue of gas prices for the population in order to resume cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other international partners necessary to service Ukraine's foreign debts.
"I do not want to raise gas prices [for the population]. It could only be a forced step to prevent economic catastrophe and poverty for Ukrainian citizens [in case of default]," the prime minister said during "government hour" at the Verkhovna Rada on Friday.
"I will ask for consultations with the faction leaders on this issue. And I will simply demonstrate two or three scenarios we might deal with," Groysman said.
