Facebook fined at more than $600,000 for scandal with Cambridge Analytica
Social network Facebook has received a fine of $660 because of the scandal with Cambridge Analytica, Radio Liberty has reported.
Facebook violated the 1998 Data Protection Act, the British Office of the Information Commissioner reported on July 10.
"The ICO investigation concluded that Facebook violated the law without protecting people's information. And it was also found that the company could not demonstrate how other people collected data," the Office said.
It is noted that the Facebook Company is allowed to respond to the comments of the Information Commissioner, after that a final decision regarding the fine will be made.
