Ukrzaliznytsia to introduce contactless payment system at stations, in trains
Public joint-stock company Ukrzaliznytsia plans to introduce the contactless payment system at stations and in trains after testing it on the Kyiv city-the Boryspil airport route, the company has said on its website.
"Two new technologies for payment for travel in trains are preliminarily envisaged: first, we will install special terminals at the Central Station in Kyiv and at the Boryspil international airport for the sale of tickets for cash and noncash, while the second will allow passengers to pay for their tickets directly in trains using the technology developed in the Kyiv subway in cooperation with Oschadbank of Ukraine," Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia Yevhen Kravtsov said.
After testing this technology on the Kyiv city-the Boryspil airport route, these technologies are planned to apply to other trains - suburban and long-distance ones.
