Ukraine, Canada sign agreement on military training of personnel

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has concluded a technical agreement with the Canadian Ministry of National Defense and the Canadian Armed Forces, which will improve cooperation in the field of military training.

The agreement was signed by commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Yuriy Alerov and deputy commander of the Canadian Joint Operations Command - Chief of Staff Operations William Seymour, the press service of the Liaison Department of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine reported on Friday.

The agreement, in particular, provides for the training of personnel, explosive technical training, medical training, modernization of logistics, professional development and education of officers, as well as language courses and cooperation in the field of strategic communications.

"It's about assistance in police training and general training. And it's not about the money, but I figured that the Canadian side gave us $25 million of assistance, and the most important is close cooperation between our countries and departments. We take over your experience, but I think you too will learn a lot from us, our servicemen. We have experience in conducting a hybrid war," Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov said, who also attended the signing of the agreement.

In turn, Seymour noted that Ukraine and Canada had achieved significant success in bilateral cooperation.
