Ukrainians sell $235 mln more currency than buy in April
Ukrainians in April 2018 bought currency from banks for the equivalent of $650.1 million, while sold for $884.8 million, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) said on the website.
Net sales of cash currency by Ukrainians in April amounted to $234.7 million compared with $104.9 million in March, $18.6 million in February and $356 million in April 2017.
According to the report, in comparison with March 2018, the volume of forex purchases decreased 9.2%, sales increased 7.8%, and 2.2-fold and 36.6% year-over-year.
The NBU said, in particular, Ukrainians last month bought U.S. dollars for $491 million, sold for $692.3 million.
In January-April 2018, Ukrainians sold $615.5 million more currency than they bought.
