Gazprom has enough property to be confiscated as debt - Minister of Justice of Ukraine
Russia's Gazprom has enough assets abroad that can be confiscated as debt in keeping with a ruling by the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, Minister of Justice of Ukraine Pavlo Petrenko said.
"We've already seized what Gazprom had in Ukraine, and we are still looking for what its debtors had in Ukrainian territory. This is also a legal process, and we will do it. Gazprom has got a lot of assets in foreign jurisdictions, in Europe. Including those assets that are easily converted into funds such as gas in storage facilities, securities, and funds in bank accounts," he said on ICTV on Monday evening.
Petrenko stressed that the Stockholm arbitration decision shall be enforced in any EU country. "The same goes for a ruling by the national court, which we will also recognize and provide for enforcement in European Union member states," he said.
