National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy today remains the operator of the gas transport system (GTS) of Ukraine under the transit contract with JSC Gazprom, Naftogaz Chief Commercial Director Yuriy Vitrenko said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
He said that the obligations of the GTS operator could be transferred to another operator when the contract is changed.
Vitrenko also expressed hope that the transit rate would be changed in the future. The Ukrainian regulator in the person of the National Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) is to make steps.
As reported, the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce has not satisfied a claim by Naftogaz Ukrainy for the review of gas transit rates stipulated in a contract with Russia's gas giant Gazprom.
