Gazprom: Russian gas consumers want to receive gas via new corridors after 2019, not via Ukraine
Russian gas consumers in Europe want to receive Russian gas via new corridors after 2019, when Gazprom's long term transit contract with Naftogaz Ukrainy expires, and not via Ukraine, Gazprom's Deputy Chairman Alexander Medvedev said at the European Gas Conference in Vienna.
"Transit gas volumes via Ukraine after 2019 will depend on transit terms and demand in Europe. We made proposals to receive gas from the Ukrainian corridor to many countries but they said, thanks, we would rather receive gas via a new corridor," he said.
Commenting on options to extend Turk Stream to Southern Europe he said: "We are still considering various options on how to deliver gas from Turk Stream to Europe. One option is to deliver it to Baumgarten."
