KrASZ to assemble test samples of SsangYong Korando cars by late 2010
Kremenchuk car assembly plant (KrASZ, Poltava region), part of AIS Corporation, is to assemble test samples of SsangYong Korando SUVs by late 2010, the company's director, Mykola Chernysh, told journalists on Thursday.
He said that earlier it was planned that the company would launch mass production of the cars in Q4, 2010.
"We thought that test cars would be assembled in early September and mass production would be started in Q4, 2010. The process has been delayed, and the terms postponed," he said.
The SsangYong Korando is entering the car market with two petrol 2.3-liter and 3.2-liter engines and two diesel 2.3-liter and 2.9-liter engines designed under a Mercedes-Benz license.
Currently the plant assembles Chinese Geely cars and South Korean SsangYong SUVs.
