The National Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) from January 1, 2018 will increase the tariff of the nuclear power plants of state-owned company Energoatom for electricity supply by 15.9%, from the current 46.61 kopecks per kW h to 54.03 kopecks/kWh (excluding VAT).

The investment program of Energoatom for 2018 was approved in the amount of UAH 10.281 billion (excluding VAT), which is 1.7 times more than the program for 2017 (UAH 6.075 billion).
At the same time, Mykola Rachin, the director for economic affairs at Energoatom, does not rule out that the company in the first quarter will apply to the commission to revise the tariff in case of changes in the hryvnia exchange rate, as the company buys fresh nuclear fuel in foreign currency.
According to the latest wording of the forecast balance for 2018 approved by the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, electricity sales by nuclear power plants next year is estimated at 79.02 billion kWh.
