Ukraine seeks to fully stop importing anthracite from 2019
Ukraine from 2019 seeks to fully stop importing anthracite coal, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Ihor Nsalyk said at a press conference to present the results of 2017 in Kyiv on Thursday.
He said that I 2017, anthracite consumption by Ukrainian power plants would decrease to 5 million tonnes from 10.6 million tonnes in 2016, and to 3 million tonnes in 2018.
Nasalyk recalled that the figures will be reached thanks to re-equipment of anthracite-burning units of thermal power plants that are switching to consumption of gas coal.
