Bill 'Buy Ukrainian, Pay to Ukrainians' violates Ukraine-EU Association Agreement – Economy ministry
Bill No. 7206 passed at first reading by the Verkhovna Rada with a requirement of introducing the local content share in public procurement "Buy Ukrainian, Pay to Ukrainians" violates the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Maksym Nefyodov wrote on his Facebook page.
"The EU has already sent an official letter saying it is violation of the Association Agreement, for which we stood on the Maidan," Nefyodov wrote on Thursday.
He also said that the bill has a requirement to submit 23 additional documents participants of public procurement. The proposed changes to the public procurement procedure would result in an increase in prices by 43%.
"Is this a big corruption risk? Yes, does it imply additional costs for the budget? Yes ... They say it is a budget compromise, but I wonder what the worst option was," he wrote.
