PM hopes Ukrzaliznytsia, General Electric to start joint production of locomotives in 2018
Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has expressed hope that public joint-stock company Ukrzaliznytsia jointly with General Electric Transportation, a member of General Electric transnational corporation, will start producing locomotives in 2018.
"Now we are working on modernization, for example, of Ukrzaliznytsia: we need traction. I think that we will be able to start joint production with General Electric next year," he said at a briefing at the Yerystivsky Mining during his working visit to Poltava region on Thursday.
The prime minister hopes that the agreement on the launch of production will be signed by the end of 2017.
Groysman said that the achievement of high local content is important for development of engineering.
As reported, Ukrzaliznytsia could sign a framework agreement of cooperation with General Electric in November.
