Ukraine should carry forward with economic reforms, not time to think about election – IMF official
It is important for Ukrainian authorities to go forward within the economic reform plan, and it is not a moment to start thinking about elections, First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) David Lipton has said.
"The important thing for Ukraine is to carry forward with its economic reforms and reach agreement with the IMF on the next review… What is at stake is whether Ukraine can solidify the stabilization and begin a period of growth, which can help solve its problems. It is a key moment and it is not a moment to start thinking about elections," he said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
