Court arrests Trafigura Ukraine, Skela Tercium's accounts in Ukrspyrt embezzlement case
Kyiv's Pecherksy district court has arrested accounts of Trafigura Ukraine LLC, Skela Tercium LLC, Craft Energy LLC, Agroresurs production industrial company LLC and AGT LLC opened by the companies in Alfa-Bank.
According to a court ruling dated September 19, 2017, the Prosecutor General's Office asked to arrest the accounts in the investigation into the embezzlement of funds by managers of state-owned enterprise Ukrspyrt when natural gas was purchased.
As reported, the subsidiary of international trader Trafigura – Trafigura Ukraine – obtained a license to supply natural gas in the country on June 15, 2017.
Trafigura was founded in 1993 by a group of traders that left Marc Rich Co. Later the latter was transformed into Glencore. In April 2017, Trafigura won a lot to supply 218 million cubic meters of gas for UAH 1.35 billion in a tender held by public joint-stock company Ukrtransgaz.
