Government posts draft resolution on monetization of subsidies at level of municipal companies
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has prepared a draft resolution on monetization of benefits and subsidies at the level of subjects providing housing and utilities services.
The corresponding document has been posted on the website of the Ministry of Finance for public discussion.
"This is a serious step forward that will cancel the system of clearing settlements and provide payments to housing and utility services providers with cash for their intended use. This problem has existed in Ukraine for 26 years and finally the government offered its vision of a solution to this situation," Deputy Prime Minister Volodymyr Kistion wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him, the government plans to introduce monetization at the level of housing and utility companies from January 1, 2018.
