Court launches UkrGaz-Energo bankruptcy over UAH 580.6 mln debt to Ukrtransgaz
Kyiv's business court on September 6, 2017 opened a bankruptcy case against private joint-stock company UkrGaz-Energo (Kyiv), the company has reported.
The case was opened under a claim of public joint-stock company Ukrtransgaz seeking to collect UAH 580.561 million from UkrGaz-Energo. The court prohibited distributions to creditors and appointed arbitration manager Andriy Priadko UkrGaz-Energo's property manager.
As reported, UkrGaz-Energo was created in February 2006 pursuant to the Russian-Ukrainian agreements on the organization of a new scheme of gas supplies to Ukraine achieved in Moscow on January 4, 2006. Naftogaz Ukrainy and RosUkrEnergo AG (Switzerland) each received 50% in the company.
In early 2008 Naftogaz and Gazprom agreed to amend the scheme of gas supplies to Ukraine, excluding UkrGaz-Energo from it. In November 2013, UkrGaz-Energo reported Naftogaz had lost its 50% stake in its charter capital. Today, 50% of shares in UkrGaz-Energo belong to Cyprus-based Centragas Holding Ltd. of Dmytro Firtash and Ivan Fursin.
